Improve Jerk Stability w/ Jerk Balance Drill – TechniqueWOD

Today on TECHNIQUEWOD, we’ll be talking about a simple drill that will improve your stability and help you put more weight overhead, the jerk balance.
Many athletes don’t step out far enough with their front foot when they jerk. The result is a relatively forward shin angle, which makes for an overall weaker position. This makes catching a heavy jerk impossible.
Add the snatch balance to your weightlifting practice, even if its just with an empty barbell at first. Your footwork will improve rapidly, and so will you jerk strength. There’s no reason you shouldn’t give it a try.
21 easy tips to help you lift more weight.
Watch this video, and share with a friend who might appreciate the drill. Also, if you have questions about the jerk balance exercise and how to work it into your programming, just leave a question below in the comments. We’re happy to help.
Move well,
Doug

Hey guys,
I know this seems like a strange query but I was wondering if you could do a techniqueWOD or podcast that focused on breathing with the different lifts. I seem to have a bit of trouble with when to inhale/exhale/holding my breath through certain lifts and am getting conflicting advice on the best way to use my breath to help my lifts.
Love the techniqueWODs – keep up the great work!
